@Jolly said in Gen X in creative fields losing their jobs: I see no reason why we can't do what the tech industry does and put some emphasis on certificates. Don't know if @Horace or @Mik see it differently, I don't get the sense that certificates mean much in the high tech industry when it comes to hiring for or actually doing a job.

Invite them both to your house for a beer. And livestream it to TNCR.

No, I don't like unnamed sources. I do suspect, as time goes on and Biden dies, we're going to learn quite a few things definitely. Autopens for EO's, contingency plans for sudden death, certain modalities used to keep monies flowing to the Biden family.

@Mik said in Vivek for Ohio: Sure, I do too. But since that description applies to 90 percent of pols Wed do well to stick to substance. I felt that he transcended the normal boundaries of political society in his outpourings which were, as you might say, embued with a very sticky substance.

Gosh I’m thankful my kid isn’t spouting off stuff like this on social media. That was hard to listen too.

But the toadying is nauseating, and the refusal of those on the right to criticize Trump and his gang for their obvious mistakes is ridiculous.

I hope he goes public with some more details about his interactions with RFK that led him to conclude that truth and transparency has no place. I'm will listen, but until then, we have one side of a story that began with Dr Marks being asked to leave, by RFK.

@jon-nyc said in Gen Z? More like Gen Trump.: @Horace said in Gen Z? More like Gen Trump.: The "master of practical wisdom" framing is your own, or, more accurately, the story you tell yourself a direct quote of Horace 1.0. If you say so.

Student: With the UGM its all about our journey in life, not the destination. He beleives we need to take time to enjoy the little things becuase life is short and you never gonna know what happens. Sometimes he contradicts himself cause sometimes you say one thing but then you think something else later. It’s all relative. Truth, wisdom, profundity. We’re told to meet the students where they are, flip the classroom, use multimedia, just be more entertaining, get better. As if rearranging the deck chairs just the right way will stop the Titanic from going down. Really disappointed in this professor for using a cliched analogy like that. In seriousness, interesting piece.

Folks...Tesla is as much a data company as a car company. Once you understand that, you'll understand a lot about Elon.

@Jolly said in Eggs > Fentanyl: Egg prices have dropped and are still dropping, NPR. It was always a temporary situation. Not worth fretting about.
